Clarissa Vazquez is a Colorado native and avid paranormal investigator. After serving in the U.S. Air Force and having her first paranormal experience while enlisted, Clarissa returned to Colorado and later founded the Colorado Coalition of Paranormal Investigators (CCPI) in 2004. Her dedication and research of paranormal phenomena led to her subsequent calling as a minister.
A world-renowned writer, Clarissa is the author of:
Ghosts of the Heart: A Paranormal Investigator’s Journey (2011)
Ghost Hunting in Colorado: Theories for World-Wide Investigators (2011)
No Monsters Here! (2014)
Demons of the Coven (2014)
Phantom Trains and Haunted Rails of the U.S. (2014)
I Can Bait My Own Hook: True Tales of a Fisher-Mom (Penned as C.J. Hoyt, 2021)
In addition to her own literary works, Clarissa has also been featured in several other books pertaining to ghosts and the paranormal to include Picture Yourself Capturing Ghosts on Film by Christopher Balzano, Ghosts from Coast to Coast by Kalyomi, and Ghosts of Colorado by Dennis Baker.
She has been on several different paranormal radio programs to include Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, Spooky Southcoast with Tim Weisberg, and Darkness on the Edge of Town with David Schrader.
She is frequently requested for public speaking appearances regarding paranormal investigation, ghosts and the Bible, and the Phantom Hitchhiker Project.
Known simply as “Fearless Leader” to the CCPI team, Clarissa takes a very scientific approach to her research and created the popular “Phantom Hitchhiker Project” in response to some very big names in the paranormal research community saying paranormal investigation – more specifically ghost hunting – cannot be conducted scientifically due to the fact that experiments are not conducted in a lab and there are too many variables. It’s her stubborn red-headed nature and can-do attitude that sets her apart from others in the paranormal research community and makes her a true pioneer in the field!
